An English hacker, Aaron Caffrey, has been cleared of bringing down the port of Houston, Texas, computer systems?
after he claimed that an hacker compromised his system and used it as a zombie. For more information you can read the?
full report at Ananova?
Why do websites/software never put the Channel Islands in their list of countries? What is the difference between,?
say, the Falkland Islands and the Channel Islands?
Are we not both crown dependancies? Are we not both self ruling? Are we both not outside of the UK and the EU? I?
know it may seem a bit selfish, but I don’t like saying that I live in the UK.
I know we’re not that far from the UK in distance, but France is closer than Guernsey to the UK and nobody is telling?
them that they should call themselves part of the UK!!!
Maybe we’re not big enough? Well, what about Bermuda? St. Helena? San Marino?
So you think I’m complaining for the sake of complaining? Weel I’m not. I’m making a stand and claiming my?
If America could do it with their civil war and declaration of independance (god help us all), why can’t I make my?
stand here and now.
I’ve had enough of the websites that can’t be bothered to make a proper list of countries. I say its discrimination?
and it should be out-lawed!!
I was reading the phpVolcano and I found this link
Now, I might be wrong, but that is just some rediculous stats.
Since I had so much fun writing the BH Monitor software. And having had the recognition of Phrixus for it, I have now written a new version of the software.
version adds a System Tray icon to the software, the window is resizeable, minimising the window hides it, the window?
can also be hidden and shown from the system tray icon. When hidden, the software does not send requests to the?
The latest version of BargainHostMonitor (1.1.0) is available here. Future imrovements to be added into BargainHostMonitor are (not in order):
- User defined refresh time.
- User defined server (not reliant on BargainHost status page)
- User defined port checking (not limited to BargainHost status page)
After being annoyed with BargainHost, for their constant downtime on my server, I wrote a little Win32 app that loads their server status page and refreshes it every 10 seconds rather than me constantly having to refresh the page in Internet Explorer.
The setup file for the tool is available here. For those of you that are interested, the setup file was created using Inno Setup compiler, available from jrsoftware [dot] org. Its free, its fast, and its powerful.
I have finally reached my goal of being the top Adrian Ritchie in the world. According to google my sub-domain Adrian [dot] Ritchie[dot] GrinGod [dot] Com is the top result for a search of “Adrian Ritchie”. Although there isn’t much on that site, its nice to be there all the same.
Unfortunately it would seem that GrinGod.com has fallen off the top spot when searching for GrinGod. Its now pointing at an article I wrote a while back for another site. Nevermind.
It appears that I’ve gone and done it again. GrinGod [dot] Com has expanded even further, and has also added its first available download. I have just added Parse [dot] GrinGod [dot] Com. It is quite simple my parser that I wrote whilst at university. It is a very simple parser with a trivial grammar but none-the-less it is a parser, it works, and I wrote it!
To find out more about it swing over to Parse [dot] GrinGod [dot] Com. If you’re an early bird and the DNS server hasn’t been updated yet you may get a DNS Not Found error, so you could try pointing your browser here instead.
Aidy [at] GrinGod [dot] Com is now the proud owner of a search engine. Ok, so I didn’t write it myself, and it?
doesn’t trawl the internet itself. But none-the-less I think its cool. Its basically using the Google SOAP API to?
search the google database.
I have got a few tweaks/changes to make to Search [dot] GrinGod [dot] Com?
but the basic site is now running.
I know what you’re thinking… why the hell do you want a search engine on your site? My answer to which is:?
Because I can!!! Besides, have you got you’re own search engine? Powered by Google? Without using the auwful?
google template thingy? No, I didn’t think so!
I am now the new owner of the bike mentioned below.? Yes, thats a Suzuki GSXR750.? For the very reasonable sum of?
?1000.? The deal went through last night and I shall be taking delivery of the bike on Friday. But I wont be able to?
ride the bike until 2nd November 2003 which is when I’ll be taking my CBT.? That is assuming the Guernsey VRLD can get?
their finger out of their a*** and sort out my provisional.
