Fun With ASCAP
As some of you may not know, the song “Happy Birthday” is a copyrighted work and that the current holder of the copyright is Time Warner. I’m not sure of the whole legal wranglings of the copyright law but ASCAP has got something to do with it. I’m sure you can easily Google it for yourself.
To cut a long story short, I sent an email to ASCAP informing them of a possible infringement of the copyright. I have just received a reply and have already responded. I’ll try and get the whole correspondence online shortly… I just wanted to tell you all about it cos I’m excited about actually receiving a response from them!!!!
